This Privacy Statement applies to United Security Bank and Directo, Inc. However, this Privacy Statement applies to you only with respect to your Directo Account. If you have other accounts or loans with United Security Bank, United Security Bank will provide a separate privacy disclosure to you for those other accounts and loans. References herein to "we," "us," and "our" refer to both United Security Bank and Directo.
This Privacy Statement describes how we collect and use your personal information and how we maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of such information. This disclosure applies to our former customers as well as our existing customers.
We recognize and respect the privacy and security expectations of our customers. As our customer, you have entrusted us to protect your privacy and to safeguard your personal financial information. We take this responsibility seriously and have taken steps to ensure your continued confidence in our institution.
Directo’s relationship with you and United Security Bank. Directo, Inc. processes your Directo Account application, and processes your Directo Account once it is established, on behalf of United Security Bank. When Directo collects information about you (see “How We Obtain Personal Account Information and What We Collect,” below) Directo does so on behalf of United Security Bank. Because of this processing arrangement, Directo and United Security Bank will share with each other all of the information collected about you.
Directo shares information about you only as allowed by law. United Security Bank does not disclose information about you or your Directo Account except to Directo or as otherwise allowed by law.
Nonpublic Personal Information — This Privacy Statement relates primarily to your nonpublic personal information. Nonpublic personal information means financial information that relates specifically to you and that is not available from a public source (such as government records, phone books, or widely distributed media). Nonpublic personal information also includes any list, description, or other grouping of customers that is created using nonpublic information.
How We Obtain Personal Customer Information and What We Collect — We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on account applications or other forms.
- Information about your transactions with United Security Bank or Directo or about your transactions on your Directo Account.
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency in connection with your Account application or Account.
- Information we receive from others whom you authorize us to contact in reviewing your applications or transactions with us.
- We collect and maintain various types of information about customers, including:
- Identifying information, such as social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, account numbers, names, addresses, and personal identification numbers (PINs) and passwords.
- Information regarding your employment status that you provide in your Directo Account applications.
- Information relating to your activity on your Directo Account, such as account balances and overdraft history.
How We Use Your Personal Information — We disclose your personal information only for our legitimate business purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The following summarizes the principal ways in which we disclose your personal information.
Sharing between United Security Bank and Directo — Because your Directo Account is with United Security Bank, United Security Bank is entitled to all information relating to your Directo Account and your Account application, including all of the information listed above, whether collected directly by United Security Bank or collected by Directo, Inc. on United Security Bank's behalf. Because Directo, Inc. processes your Account application and your Directo Account on behalf of United Security Bank, United Security Bank shares with Directo, Inc. all of the information United Security Bank collects about you and all of the information collected by Directo, Inc. on United Security Bank's behalf.
Disclosure to Other Nonaffiliated Third Parties Directo and United Security Bank may disclose information about you, including nonpublic personal information, to nonaffiliated third parties as described below. “Nonaffiliated third parties” are companies or other persons that do not control United Security Bank or Directo, Inc. and are not controlled by or under common control with United Security Bank or Directo, Inc. We are permitted by law to share the following information for the following purposes: - To service providers. Directo may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that provide services for us, such as ATM providers, printing companies and mail processing companies. We require that these service providers maintain the confidentiality of your information and that they use the information only for the purposes for which we have provided it.
- For legal requirements. Directo and United Security Bank may use all of the information either of us collects, as described above, to satisfy legal requirements. We also will share your nonpublic personal information with government agencies and legitimate investigators as required or allowed by law, including in order to comply with applicable government reporting or legal process (such as court orders, subpoenas, or government requests) which we reasonably believe to be valid or required.
- To consumer reporting and/or credit reporting agencies. We may disclose information relating to United Security Bank's transactions or experiences with you to consumer reporting agencies and similar organizations.
- With your consent. We may disclose all of the information that we collect, as described above, with any person when you have provided your written consent for us to do so, including when you give someone a power of attorney or other authorization to act on your behalf.
Account Numbers, PINs, Access Codes. In no event will we share your account numbers, PINs or similar access codes to third parties for any marketing purposes without your authorization.
Protecting the Security of Your Information. Your privacy is considered in all aspects of our business. We maintain systems to protect the security of your information and to protect your information from unauthorized access. We also limit employee access to personal customer information to those with a legitimate business reason for such access. Our employees are informed of their responsibility to protect confidential customer information and are governed by a code of conduct that includes this confidentiality requirement. Appropriate disciplinary policies are in place to help enforce employee privacy responsibilities. We will retain your personal information only as long as necessary to maintain and service your account or loan with us, to conform with safe and sound banking practices, and as required by law.
Accuracy of Customer Information. We believe that it is important to maintain the accuracy of all of your information with us. We have systems designed to ensure this accuracy and to correct any information that we learn to be inaccurate.
